John R. Moore (1942 - 2011) John R. Moore, 69, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home. John was born March 11, 1942, in Corsicana to Lucian and Jennie Moore. He was a licensed architect in the state of Texas. During his long career as an architect he contributed to the design of the River Crest Country Club, the Tandy Center, the Fort Worth National Bank and the Oceanography and Meteorology building at Texas A&M. He also designed numerous structures around the country. After retiring he loved to paint and enjoyed teaching others to draw. He always encouraged his children to be artistic and value family. "Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated, for these there is hope." - Oscar Wilde. John will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Children, Dorothy "DJ" Cawley and husband, Douglas, Brandon Moore, Lindsay Moore; grandson, Alex Moore; and sister, Elaine Moore Lanmon and husband, Thomas.
