Ida Meda Reed Wright, 91, of Goliad died Thursday, April 21, 2011. She was born on December 09, 1919 to the late Demry Martin & Bertha Chance Reed. In early years Meda was a secretary to school superintendents in Freer, Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Alice, Texas as well as secretary at Memorial Jr. High in Alice, Texas. After retirement in 1967 she moved back to the ranch she grew up on in Goliad County. She was a beloved mother & grandmother. Her joy was to be with her family & friends. She last resided at La Bahia Nursing & Rehab in Goliad, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 yrs. Harry L. Wright, Jr., infant son Reed Martin, and son Harry L Wright, III. Survivors include her daughter Beverly W. Neal (Milton), daughter-in-law Doris Wright, seven grandchildren & spouses, 15 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Irene Milam, and numerous family members & friends. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Friday. Funeral services will be at the church on Saturday at 4 p.m. with burial to follow in Glendale Cemetery, Pastors J. V. Helms and Jay Fleming officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
