Bio

Pearl Ivy Harrison Scott, 93, of Tyler (formerly of Huntington), was born November 23, 1917 in the Ora Community in Angelina County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Florida (Conner) and Jim E. Ivy. Mrs. Scott passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 in Tyler. Mrs. Scott was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and fishing. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Allen Brown of Tyler; son, James Harrison of California; grandsons, Scott Brown and Ethan Blan Scott; granddaughter, Jessica Hargroue-Hicks; and sister, Ethel Havard of Huntington. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her former husband, Arthur Blan Scott; son, Elton Blan Scott, brothers and sisters, Marvin Ivy and his wife, Kizzie Nolen Ivy; her twin sister, Muriel Elledrige, Billie Barge, Willard Ivy, and Lucille Stewart; brother-in-law, Burl Havard; and sister-in-law, Lavana Walker. Pallbearers will be Brian Heisler, Jason Heisler, Scott Brown and Howard Westbrook. Services for Mrs. Scott will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mike Littlefield, Pastor of Tyler Tabernacle, Tyler, Texas officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery in Huntington. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at Gipson Funeral Home.
