Coy Leonard Brantley (1916 - 2011) Coy Leonard Brantley passed from death to life Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home in Kaufman. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville. Memorials: Donations in his honor may be made to Kaufman ISD Scholarship Fund, 1000 S. Houston St., Kaufman, Texas 75142, or Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County, 1321 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Coy Brantley was born in rural Red River County on Dec. 24, 1916. He spent his working life as a truck driver. Coy was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville. On Feb. 1, 1961, six men organized the Friendship Men's Brotherhood. Coy was elected as secretary-treasurer and served in that position until February 2000. During those 39 years, Coy worked with the brotherhood in serving both inside and outside the church. Missionaries were supported, home repairs were done, the hungry were fed. He was a good and faithful servant and he is now at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta, and son, Donald Wayne. Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Ronny Johnson of Kaufman; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Ellen Brantley of Fort Worth; and many grandchildren.
