Bio

Delores Beall Weaver, 75, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, after a long illness. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, chapel of J.E. Foust Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine, where the family will be present from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment: Parker Cemetery, Grapevine. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Susan G. Komen for the Cure . Delores was born on Oct. 9, 1935, in Abilene, the daughter of Weldon Kay and Lois Harrison Beall. In 1948 the family moved to Dallas where she attended Adamson High School. Early on in her career, Delores worked as a secretary, then as a legal secretary before opening an outdoor sign business, known as Super See, Inc., from which she retired in 1987. Delores was active in many civic affairs in Grapevine and was twice named the Member of the Year in the Grapevine Heritage Ambucs Club. Delores was a born-again Christian and remained a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapevine until her death. She was a strikingly beautiful person to look at, but God did not stop there. He also made her beautiful inside. A good, deep genuine beautiful person in body and spirit. This she carried with her always. Mainly silent, but always wise, loving and caring. And so loving. To quote her husband, "She was my woman and my wife, yes, my Love and my Life." We thank you Lord for her days on this earth. We know she is with You now and forever. Survivors: Husband, Harland Tod Weaver, retired chief justice of the Second Court of Appeals of Texas and to whom she was married in August 1974; daughters, Ginger Drake Smith and husband, Brian, of Garland, and Dixie Rogers and husband, Richard, of Rowlett; son, Keith Allen of Plano; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Drake, the 9-year-old daughter of Delores' deceased grandson, Chad Drake, who was killed in August 2004, at the age of 22, while serving in the US Army in Iraq. Yes, a brave and highly decorated American soldier-least we forget. She is also survived by a brother, Stanley Beall and wife, Wanda; niece, Lynn Beall; and nephew, Capt. Philip Beall, a senior pilot with American Airlines. Published in Star-Telegram on April 18, 2011
