Note: THIS WAS WRITTEN BY TERRY GILL: "Everybody loved Grandpa. As long as I knew him, he was blind....cateracts. I really don't know that he ever worked very much. I only knew him to sit on the front porch leaning on his cane, leaning forward to hear when you talked to him. When you went to see him, you had to tell him who you were. He thought my name was Perry. When I was little, I used to try and try to make him understand that my name was Terry with a T. Then, I decided that it didn't make much difference what he called me, since all I ever said to him was "Hello" and "Goodbye". He was very soft-spoken and looked like an old Indian Chief."
