American Press, Tuesday, June 21, 1994; Page: 2 CECIL BRISTER DERIDDER - Funeral services for Cecil Brister, 69, will be at 10 a m Wednesday, June 22, at Hixson Funeral Home The Revs. Wayne Pounder; and Gordon Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in Whitaker Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m.- 10 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m Wednesday. Mr. Brister died Monday June 20, 1994, in a local hospital A native of Buna, Texas, he lived most of his life in DeRidder and was a retired house painter. Survivors are three daughters, Virginia Wilson and Cathy Maddox, both of DeRidder, and Shirley Jefferson of Buras; four sons, Billy Brister of Sugartown, Edward Brister of DeRidder, Donald Joe Brister of Rosepine and David Norman of Baytown, Texas; four sisters, Leatha Burgess of Singer, Evelyn Vance of Ohio, Opal Turner of Rosepine and Sue Maddox of DeRidder, five brothers, G.A, Brister of Singer, J.R. Brister ol DeQuincy, Garland Brister of DeRidder, David Brister of Rosepine and Jerry Brister of Kentucky, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
