Alpine Avalanche January 23, 2003 Page A2 Martin Goldie Glee Martin, 78, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19 in a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Geeslin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duncan Parish officiating. Funeral services entrusted to Geeslin Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin was born on July 24, 1924 in Ballinger to Reba Faye and Herman Williams. Goldie was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Alpine for the last 23 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Goldie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Reba Carlton; one daughter, Reba Sue Gill; one sister, Marzell L. Vick; and one brother, D. R. (Pete) Carlton. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Larry A. Martin of Alpine; her daughter, Laura A. Decker of Mesquite; her son, Jim D. Bowen of Midland; her sister, Betty Colwell of Monahans; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent in Goldie's name to a charity of choice.
