Lake Charles American Press, Friday, November 16, 1984 Deridder: Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Ruth Mathis, 63, of Dayton, Texas, will be at 2pm today, Nov. 16, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Johnny Mims will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. She died Tuesday in a Liberty, Texas, hospital. A native of Mena, Ark., and a longtime resident of DeRidder, Mrs. Mathis moved to Dayton two years ago. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Mathis; four daughters, Mrs. Grace Dubose and Mrs. Rachel Miers, both of DeRidder, Mrs. Barbara Gates of Dayton and Mrs. Trellis Havens of Singer; three sons, James LaGrone of Springfield, Ark., Joe LaGrone of Hardin, Texas, and Russell Cooley of Sugartown; four brothers, Bill Lindsey of Marshall, Ark, Johnny Lindsey of DeRidder, Tommy Lindsey of Ventura, Calif., and Bobby Lindsey of San Antonio, Texas; 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
