Bio

Co G 9th AL. Cav. CSA David Ridgeway, father of Capt. W.J. Ridgeway, died at his home near Good Springs, Limestone County, AL, on Sunday, 26th August, of pneumonia, aged 76 years the 19th of December next. Deceased moved to the vicinity in which he died in 1831 from near Knoxville, where he was born. He had never belonged to any Church, but on the day of his death was immersed by Rev. Mr. Shelton. His grandfather went to Kentucky about the time Daniel Boone went, and his mother is said to have been the first white female born in that State. Capt. Ridgeway attended his father's bedside.
