THE HIGHLANDER NEWS OCTOBER 30, 2007 Eldon Thurman Eldon Thurman, 90, of Abilene, formerly of Marble Falls, died Oct. 22. He was born July 9, 1917 in Double Horn Community, Burnet County. Eldon was the son of Amos Nathan and Frances Obera (Williamson) Thurman. Eldon is survived by his wife Eunice; three daughters Carol Thurman Cost and husband Jim, Marilyn Thurman Johnson and Nancy Thurman Smith; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother Merrell Thurman; other relatives; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one grandson. Pallbearers are Dan Copeland, Reed Norman, Don Roberts, Glen Bible, Ron Holcomb and Alan Sivells. Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 25 at First Baptist Church in Marble Falls. Funeral service was Friday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Marble Falls with Max Copeland, Ed Walker and Steve Peace officiating. Internment followed at Marble Falls City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls.
