Ida Bell "Little Granny" Simpson, 91, of Arthur City died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Paris Health Care Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Gene Rodens Sons' Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wilbur Simmons and the Rev. Russell Willis officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born June 4, 1910, in Hopkins County to Dan and Josephine Mooney Sutton. She maried Willie B. Simpson March 5, 1929, and he died Aug. 10, 1991. She was a memer of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker and loving mother. Surviving are four daughters, Miriam Simpson of Powderly and Ruth Cass and husband Gene and Wanda Edelhauser and husband Ken, all of Arthur City and Kay S. Powers of Phoenix, Ariz.; two half sisters, Joy Smith of Paris and Christine Wilkins of Plainview; sisters-in-law, Jean Sutton of Roanoke and Lorine Sutton of Plano; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, three brothers, one sister, and one grandson. Pallbearers will be Larry Cass, Jim Cass, Rick Simpson, David Simpson, Marty Vanderburg, and Cary Lott. Honorary bearers will be Michael Cass, Matthew Cass, Brandon Kearney, Josh Kearney, Jeremy Simpson and Eric Kendall.
