Bio
Viola E. Cooley, 97, of Longville, La., passed away on June 30, 2005, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. She was born in Lynn, Kansas and moved to Louisiana when she was six-years-old. She married Phillip M. Cooley in 1926 at the age of 19 and moved to what is the old home place in Longville. She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Longville. She lived alone for 37 years and she always welcomed guests in her home. She loved to cook, crochet and she loved her church. She will be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Owen Cooley and one grandson Todd Cooley. She is survived by one son, Alfred Cooley of Houma, La.; and on daughter, Grace McLean of Longville, La. She has nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, July 3, 2005 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2005, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. with the Rev. Stuart Graves officiating.
