Bio
Mrs. W. H. McCarver passes away: funeral held Tuesday. Mrs. W. H. McCarver, 83, passed away at her home in the New Prospect community at 8:30 o'clock Monday evening, her death following that of her husband who passed away Sunday morning. Both these aged and greatly beloved pioneer citizens had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services of Mrs. McCarver were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at New Prospect Church and interment was made in the New Prospect cemetery, beside the body of her husband, funeral services for whom were held Monday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. E. V. Tunnel and Rev. B. C. Anderson. The passing of this highly esteemed couple has brought deep sorrow throughout this section. They lived and practiced true Christianity, they were good neighbors and enjoyed the love and friendship of their great number of friends. Mrs. McCarver is survived by seven daughters and one son, Mrs. H, Youngblood, Houston; Mrs. T. J. Menefee, Lufkin; Mrs. Roscoe Luce, Olney; Mrs. Eddie Forbis, Center; Mrs. Robert Powers and Mrs. Hardy Watson, Timpson; Mrs. L. M. Irish, Brady; Truitt McCarver, Olney; sister Mrs. Ed Bogard, Timpson; brothers, A. K. Hammer, Timpson; Foster Hammer, Houston.
