Emma Lee Hammond was born 23 September 1906 in Hopkins County, Texas to Joseph Simpson and Una Era Nunn Hammond. She married Melvin Boyd Pendleton 2 April 1922 in Hopkins County. They had three children named Darrell Boyd, Mary Lou, and Sherry Lee Pendleton. Emma Lee Hammond Pendleton died 12 June 1981 in Hopkins County and was buried in the Nelta Cemetery.
