Hillsboro Reporter Thursday, September 19, 2002 JIMMIE ELLIS Mr. Jimmie N. Ellis, 78, of Hillsboro died Friday, September 13, at his residence. He was born August 23, 1924 in Whitney, son of Frank and Ola Walling Ellis. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Bonnie Spencer June 15, 1945 in Riverside, California. He retired from Texas Power and Light after 39 years. He taught Sunday school and was a deacon at Walnut Street Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Suzann Ellis, March 8, 1953; and one son, Jimmie N. Ellis, Jr., May 15, 1977. Survivors include: his wife; two children, Linda Little and husband, Tom, of Nashville, Tennessee and Rusty Ellis and wife, Miste, of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Byron Tilton officiating. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church, 100 Walnut Hill Avenue, Hillsboro 76645.
