Bio
Leatrice Marie Hartman, 93, passed away August 24, 2019, in Bellville, Texas. She was born November 6, 1925, in Brenham, Texas to Lee and Norma Ilse. She was raised in Warrenton and graduated from La Grange High School. As a young lady, she played piano with the Lee Ilse Orchestra of La Grange along with her two sisters. She married Carl Hartman, Jr. on August 4, 1945. She met Carl while working at International Harvester in Houston and then left work to raise a family after they married. She moved to Cat Spring, Texas in 1983 after Carl's retirement from International Harvester. She loved to cook and bake for her family and enjoyed gardening and pickling. Her homemade bread, pies and pickles were family favorites. She is survived by her sister, Velrie Prause; son Ronnie Hartman (wife Emily); son Bobby Hartman; and daughter Carolyn Drushel (husband Geoff). She has two grandchildren, Jeff Hartman (friend Christy) and Angela Barker (husband Jared), and two great-granddaughters, Willa and Greta Barker. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Evelyn Jecmenek along with brothers-in-law Leon Jecmenek and Glen Prause. Pallbearers include Jared Barker, Duane Dudensing, Jeff Hartman and Ervin Warschak, Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Briarwood Manor Care Center for taking care of her these past two years, as well as Allumine Health for her hospice care.
