Bio

Mrs. Bertha Puente of 1558 Ave. C passed away Wednesday morning in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Kelley-Hixson Chapel with Rev. Stanley of Lamar Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Puente had lived in Beaumont since the early 1930s. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Puente; three daughters, Eva Davis, Evelyn Broussard, and Patricia Puente, all of Beaumont; four sons, John Puente, Richard Puente, James Puente and Anthony Puente, all of Beaumont. Mrs. Puente was the mother of the late Little John Puente and Geneva Puente. Survivors also include five brothers, Arthur Pelt of Fullerton, La, Luther Pelt, Joe Pelt and Harold Pelt all of Beaumont, and Leroy Pelt of Danbury; and one sister, Opal Lee Morgan of DeRidder, La., and 16 grandchildren.
