Naomia June Westbrook, age 80, of North Platte passed away April 2, 2011 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born October 29, 1930 in Lexington, Nebraska to Leon Jerry and Lela O. Collins Wilsey. She attended public school and graduated from Lexington High School in 1948. As a young lady June worked at various places before moving to North Platte, where she worked at Montgomery Wards. On January 11, 1964 she married Richard Westbrook in North Platte. June was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and RSVP. She enjoyed gardening with her husband, reading and crocheting, and was active in the North Platte Alzheimer's Support Group. Survivors include sisters, Beverly (Gene) Myers of Minden, NE and Ladena (Wayne) Beins of Spanish Fort, UT; brother, Leon Wilsey of Grand Island, NE; Step-son, Robert (Connie) Westbrook of Arnold, NE; Step-daughter, Paula (Juan) Garcia of Kansas City, MO; special friends, Sharon and Larry Neal of North Platte; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Eugene, Fred, and Harold; sisters, Lena Payne, Fern Wolgamott, Thelma Bevins, and Elsalou Smith. Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Reverend Robert Wiest officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. North Platte Telegraph, April 5, 2011
