Private—Enlisted at Clinton, Arkansas, March 1, 1862, Co D 31st Infantry, Confederate Army; age 42; captured as a deserter near Jackson, Mississippi, July 18, 1863; sent to Camp Morton, Indiana, August 7, 1863; released on oath of allegiance, May 22, 1865.
