I wrote a poem when my great grandmother was deceased for 30 yrs, at Christmas, 1975 In Memory of Nancy McClain Grose A Mother to All of Us by Nancy Turner Brown At the end of the road What beauty was beheld Where a family toiled hard And lived life well. At the end of the road, A garden with peas, Nuts from black walnuts, And a cool, gentle breeze At the end of the road Thirty years ago, They drove her away She had suffered so. At the end of our road, Let us all be with Him, The Savior she knew, And shared with all kin. Nancy was the daughter of Felix and Fannie Grimes McClain Beloved wife of Joseph Edward Grose.Beloved mother of Bernice Grose Matlock,Knox Grose (m. Irene Hayes),Mary Grose,Alileen Grose Brown, Edward Grose, Juanita Grose Henson, Herman Grose, Glenn Grose, Ferrell Grose and Farris Grose. Many think her name was Nancy Jane McClain Grose but after extensive searching and talking with her son Herman and great granddaughter Nancy Turner Brown, they tell me her name was Nancy Ellen McClain Grose. The picture contributed by Nan is the waterfall in the front yard where Nancy lived. children Knox Grose Nell Aileen Grose Holt Herman and his wife Nadine live in Texas (7-15-2014) Ferrell married Wanda Brumlow
