Bio

KEYS Charles Burton Keys, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away July 29, 1999. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Alvis Burton Keys and Margaret Riddle Keys. Charlie spent all of his life working in the refining business. His work started in Corpus Christi and took him to St. Croix, where he held a managerial position at Hess Oil Virgin Islands Corporation. He also touched many lives in Louisiana, where he managed Placid Oil Company, and Hill Petroleum Corp; CORCO Petroleum Co. in Puerto Rico and in Russia and Romania. He was not only a supervisor, but also a mentor and father to many who were lucky to have known him. People in many parts of the world mourn his passing, but cherish the knowledge and kindness that he bestowed upon them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Margaret Keys and granddaughter, Amber Hunnicut. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Olga Espana Keys of Sugar Land; sons, Roger Keys and wife, Carol, Alex Keys and wife, Rhonda; daughters, Karol Keys Dutton and husband, Max and Elizabeth Keys Smith; brothers, Leon Alvis Keys and wife, Jeannine, of Mathis, Texas and Robert Keys and wife, Sandra, of Robstown, Texas; grandchildren: Brian, Amanda, James, Shane, Melissa, Alexis, Amber, Charles Paul; great-grandchildren: Amber Michelle, Brittany Elizabeth, and Christian Jordan, and numerous other family members and friends. Pallbearers: Roger Keys, Alex Keys, Gary Keys, Larry Keys, Max Dutton, and John Jacobson. Mr. Ted Howell will officiate the services. Visitation: Monday, August 2, 1999 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM 2218 & Hwy 59S), Rosenberg, (281) 341-8800. Chapel services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 1999, at 10:00 A.M. with interment following at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, Texas.
