Obituaries Athens Weekly Review Hawk Scott, 73 died in a Dallas hospital Saturday at 11;30 p.m. after a brief illness. Born in Malakoff November 6, 1896, he moved to Murchison as a child and lived there untill moving to Athens 10 years ago. He was a retired employee of Cotton Belt Railroad, his wife Mrs. Jackie Scott died Sept. 26, 1969. Mr. Scott is survived by four sons, Vernon Scott of Dallas, Roy Scott of Jacksonville, and Gerald Scott and Kenneth Scott of Garland, four daughters, Mrs. Irene Griffin of Frisco, Mrs. Flogene Little of El Paso and Mrs. Bonnie Jo Gardner and Mrs. Eloise Gardner both of Kaufman, one sister, Mrs. Lucie Cook of Athens and 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Carroll & Lehr Memory Chapel with the Rev. H.C. Parker and the Rev. Grady Cook officiating and burial will be in Shelby Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Montgomery, Richard Scott, Woodrow Powell, Gary Good, Dan Gardner and W.A. Little.
