Alan James Hotovy was born June 8, 1948 in Seward, Nebraska to John Benedict and Sylvia A. (Mares) Hotovy and died in Seward, Nebraska March 25, 2011 at the age of 62 years, 9 months, 17 days. Alan attended Assumption School in Dwight and was a 1966 graduate of East Butler High School in Brainard, NE. Alan was a graduate of Milford Trade School in the Auto Body Program. He served his country in the U.S. Army reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Alan worked for Louis Kolar Mobil and in 1991 he started Al's Repair in Dwight and through the course of the years received numerous mechanic awards. Alan was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. He was a member of the Dwight Rural Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years and during that time was a former Assistant Chief, EMT and training officer and was a member of the Dwight Rural Fire Board for 33 years. He was a member of Dwight American Legion Post No. 110 for 40 years and served as the post bugler for over 35 years. Alan married Loretta Ann (Slama) Jisa January 22, 2011 in Omaha, Nebraska. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Sylvia Hotovy and his brother-in-law, Duane Swoboda. Contributor: mm (50950498)
