Funeral services for JoAnn Uttecht, age 82, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk. Reverend Michael Moreno will officiate, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements. JoAnn died Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk. JoAnn Louise was born September 4, 1941, in Norfolk, Nebraska to William and Blanche (Friedrich) Uttecht. She attended school in Norfolk, graduating from Norfolk High School in 1959. She worked as a telephone operator and supervisor at Northwestern Bell. JoAnn liked knitting, listening to relaxing music, and cherished her quiet time. She also enjoyed shopping. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and would volunteer her time at the church with Lutheran Braille Workers. She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Emrich of Norfolk and Laura Mattice of Denver, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Uttecht and Janice Uttecht; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeanette Uttecht; and brothers, Delmar, Allen, and Dale Uttecht.
