Sylvia Fencl of Prague, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at the Birchwood Manor in North Bend where she had resided the past 2 years. Sylvia was born December 9, 1917, in Linwood, Nebraska to Matthew and Mary(Shultz) Brtek and attended school in Linwood. On April 18, 1936, she married Stanley Fencl at the courthouse in Wahoo. They farmed near Prague and eventually moved to town. Sylvia was a homemaker and loved gardening, caring for Stanley and the boys and loved to bake rolls, pies, bread and cakes. She is survived by her son, Kenny Fencl, Prague, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, March 10, 2002, son Marvin, June 12, 2006, a brother, Emil Brtek and a sister, Helen Frohner. Funeral services: 2 P.M., Friday, March 25, 2011, Kracl Funeral Chapel, David City. Lunch: Prague National Hall. Committal: Prague National Cemetery, Prague. Visitation: Thursday, March 24, 2011, 3-7 P.M., Kracl Funeral Chapel. Memorials: Prague Rescue Unit. Kracl Funeral Chapel of David City in charge of these arrangements.
