'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The News-Journal (Fullerton, Nebr.), September 26 ,1913, p. 1, col. 2 MARTIN STETZ PASSED AWAY About 7 o'clock a.m. Sept. 19, Mr. and Mrs. John Podraza were alarmed by the little girl of Martin Stetz, crying that her father had taken suddenly ill. They hastened to the Stetz home and immediately upon arriving they heard crys for help from Mrs. Stetz and children in the hay mow, rushing into the barn, they found Mr. Stetz in the hay shoot [sic, chute?] and his wife holding him by the shoulders. Mr. Podraza with the help of his wife lifting him from the shoot but he was dead. Mr. Stetz was subjected to fits and is supposed was seized with one of these while putting down hay to the horses, causing his death, as he seemed in good health when he arose that morning about 5 a.m. and went to the pasture to get a sick horse, returning to the house he told Mrs. Stetz about the horse then went to the barn to feed, after being absent from the house for some time his wife became worried and went to look for him, finding him in the hay shoot unconscious. He leaves a wife and five small children. The funeral was held from the Catholic church on Saturday.
