Bio
(dau of William T. and Mary Coleman McClain) 1st wife of Thomas Simpson Cooper, the son of Col. Robert Melville Cooper and Catherine Cooper Cooper. Beloved mother of Martin McClain Cooper. "To the Memory of Livonia Cooper. Wife of Thomas Cooper daughter of W.T. & Mary McClain who was born December 13, 1844 and departed this life April 25, 1862." From Tombstone Rubbing by Mary Bob and Liz McClain. Livonia McClain Cooper had her child during the Civil War while her husband Thomas Simpson Cooper was serving. She died while he was away. The baby boy stayed with her parents and the Cooper family. Later after his dad re-married he was raised by his father Thomas Simpson. He had 3 half sisters and 1 half brother named Knox Cooper.
