Bio
------------------------- The Reverend Mr. George A. Hammon earned degrees at William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri and attended seminary at Colgate University. He was ordained in 1934 in Hannibal, Missouri. Reverend Hammon was the retired pastor of the First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City, Missouri. He had retired from the church in 1977 and then was a missionary at Yokohama, Japan for a year. He founded three churches during his ministry in Jefferson County, and two other churches while he was a minister of the First Baptist Church of Mexico, Missouri. He was a member of the board of directors of Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis County. He was married to Mildred Bruner who survived him. They had one son, John W. Hammon, an attorney in Hillsboro, Missouri and four grandchildren. -------------------------
