Bio

The Paris Morning News Paris, Lamar County, Texas Tues. Aug. 22, 1922 Information has been received here that John K. Sligh, who was stationed at Paris over a year as recruiting officer for the Navy during the World War, died last Thursday at Long Beach, Cal., from burns received in a gasoline explosion. While he was stationed here he made many friends and was initiated into the Masonic lodge. He was a member of the lodge here at the time of his death. He has a sister in Dallas, and the remains were taken there for burial. He resigned from the Navy a year or two ago, and at the time of the accident was engaged in the garage business in California.
