Jan. 29, 1916 — Jan. 24, 2003 CALDWELL — Services for Lydia Siptak Rode, 86, of Austin are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the New Tabor Brethren Church near Caldwell. The Revs. Henry Beseda and John Baletka will officiate. Burial will be in the New Tabor Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mrs. Rode died Friday in Treemont Healthcare Center in Houston. She was born in Caldwell and lived in Austin 60 years. She earned a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas in Austin and taught in Burleson County and Austin 31 years. She was a member of University United Methodist Church in Austin. Survivors include her husband, Leonard J. Rode of Austin; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Steve Schaeffer of Houston; two sisters-in-law, Gerry Siptak and Betty Siptak, both of Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
