J.W. Baxter McKINNEY - J.W. Baxter, 94-year-old McKinney resident, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in McKinney. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. Chaplain Jim Van Bibber will officiate with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. Surviving are his wife, Janelle Baxter of McKinney; and brother, W.F. Baxter of McKinney. Memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice. Baxter, age 94, of McKinney, Texas passed away March 15, 2011. He was born on June 28, 1916, in Franklin Community, Texas to Elbert Elijah and Retta Lou (Scott) Baxter. On April 26, 1947, he married Mildred Janelle Haggard in McKinney. Mr. Baxter proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a longtime farmer and a member of the Rockhill Church of Christ in Frisco, Texas. Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janelle Baxter; and brother, W.F. Baxter both of McKinney; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. His parents and nine siblings preceded him in death. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the charity of your choice in memory of J.W.
