Published in the Athens Review May 16, 1940 T.J. Hoskins, 76, long time Henderson county resident and a prominent citizen of the LaRue community, died Sunday at his farm home three miles North-east of that town. Funeral services were scheduled for 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon with interment to follow in the LaRue cemetery. Mr. Hoskins had lived in the LaRue area for the past decade, having moved there after selling his land holdings near Malakoff to the Texas Power and Light Co. a decade ago. Deceased was born November 15th, 1863 in Alabama, but came to Texas with his parents at the age of eleven years. He lived in Bastrop, Williamson and Bell counties before moving to Henderson county in 1916. He settled then in the Oakwood community near Malakoff. His widow, four sons and one daughter survive. They are: H.L. Hoskins, LaRue; Clyde Hoskins, Malakoff, William Hoskins, Sam Hoskins and Mrs. May McDaniel of LaRue.
