Joseph John Veltz of Salt Lake City UT BORN: January 24, 1922, in Manistique, MI BORN TO: Ladeilva and Mary Velcz MARRIED TO: Zelma Stone Brandenburg, Dec. 10, 1971, deceased Nov. 16, 2002 DIED: August 13, 2006) BURIED: Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia, NE., next to his wife At age 17 he joined the US Coast Guard serving in Africa and Europe. His unit participated in major invasions during WWII and was among the first waves to hit the beach at Normandy aboard a LST #21. He marched in the parade in NYC at the conclusion of the war. After the War he moved to Montana working on ranches near Harlowton, MT where he met his future wife PRECEDED IN DEATH BY his wife Zelma, his parents, and his two brothers, Adam and John. SURVIVED BY his brother Walter (Darlene) Welch; his sisters Mary Sedan; Marlene (Bill) Wettstein; Carrie (Ron) Fulgham; Judy (Gary) Ferguson-Norton; Bob (Sandy) O'Connell. Survived by 13 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Aug. 16, 2006 in Arcadia, NE., at the Arcadia Cemetery, next to his beloved wife.
