McKinney (TX) Courier-Gazette, Friday, Feb 1, 1952, p. 6 (extracted from research records of Ruth Hasten Walsh) Mrs. Charity Elizabeth Barnes, 72, passed away Thursday afternoon at 6:20 p.m. at her residence in Melissa. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wright, being born in Tennessee, Feb 7, 1880. Her survivors include her husband Jim B. Barnes, Melissa, three daughters, Mrs. Willie Roberson, Maybanks, Mrs. James Lewis, Dallas, and Mrs. Loyd Renfro, Anna, Route 2; three sons, Ernest and Cecil Barnes, Dallas and Bennie Barnes, Melissa; six sisters ..... Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p. m. at the Melissa Baptist Church with Rev. J. B. Hilger and Rev. Truman Skaggs officiating. Crouch-Moore Funeral Home of this city will be in charge of arrangements
