Bio
Ruth Davis, age 91, formerly of York, NE, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Hilliard, Ohio. Ruth was born March 20, 1919 in Benedict, Nebraska to Delbert and Sigrid (Forslund) Query. She was married to Paul E. Davis on January 6, 1946 at Benedict. She received her teaching degree from Nebraska Wesleyan and was a member of Willard Sorority. Ruth was a long time resident of York, where she taught school, worked for Pioneer Hybrid, Pioneer Mental Health Center and was an associate at J. M. McDonalds before retiring. She was a founding member of the Benedict Beauties. Ruth moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2002, and moved with her daughter to Hilliard in 2005 where she was a resident at Carriage Court assisted living facility until her death. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (David) Misenko, Vicki Young and Paula (Kevin "Rocky") Surface; grandchildren, Erika Jones, Monika (John) Nordlander, Grant Young, Jared Surface, Davis Surface and Mary Surface; great-grandchildren, Kia Jones, Kennedy Jones, John O. Nordlander and Cole Nordlander; nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Davis, her parents, and her sisters, Arlene Query and Marie Urich. Visitation begins after 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 15th. Private family funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 16th with Reverend Art Phillips officiating.
