TYLER, Texas— Custer Kesel Sr. of Ben Wheeler, Texas, passed away June 30, 1997, at Trinity Mother Frances Health System, Tyler, Texas. Services will be held July 3rd at 2:30 p.m. at St. Constantino and Helen Church, 4109 Ave., Galveston, Texas. Burial will follow services at St. Constantine and Helen Cemetery, Galveston. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home. Mr. Custer Kesel was born April 3, 1912, in Galveston, Texas. He was retired as a truck driver for the Swico Construction Company. He was a native Galvestonian and relocated in 1976 to Ben Wheeler, Texas, where he made his home for the last 21 years. Survivors are his wife Virginia (Oxford) Kesel; of Ben Wheeler, Texas, daughter, Sammy Jean (Kesel) Murillo Laningham, Galveston; son, Custer Kesel Jr., Ben Wheeler, Texas; sisters; Donnie Keller and Bernice Mills, both of Galveston; brother, Dan Kesel of Topeka; Kansas; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Constantine Church or Cemetery Fund. Pallbearers will be Custer Kesel Jr., William G. Criss, Gilbert Rodriguez, Gabriel Socias III, Morris Soler, and Bubba Koehler. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Kupsa, Johnnie Munoz and Dan Kovacevich. Broadway Funeral Home.
