Bio
Ben Etta Cates, 91, of Brenham, died July 31, 2002 in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Ms. Cates was born Nov. 3, 1910 in Dallas, Texas to William Baldwin and Mary Brack (Wilson) Mims. She was a member of Brenham Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Johnetta and Hugh L. Bradshaw of Brenham; brothers, Edward and Sandi Mims of Bozeman, Mont. and John and Evelyn Mims of Jefferson; sisters, Katherine and J.R. Hatcher of Dallas, Wanda Kelley of Dallas and Elizabeth King of Jefferson; sister-in-law, Eloise Mims of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A private graveside service will be held in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with the Rev. Brad Munroe officiating. Memorials may be given to Presbyterian Children's Home and Service, P.O. Box 140888, Austin, Texas 78714-9981. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
