William Franklin Bennett, 87, of Decatur, formerly of the Arthur-Atwood area, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday (March 4, 2011) at Aspen Ridge Care Center in Decatur, Illinois. He was born on August 4, 1923 in Bourbon, Illinois, to Fred and Mayme Wilson Bennett. He married Dorthea Abbott and later married Mildred Mayfield. She survives. He is also survived by a son, Fred Bennett; two daughters, LaVonn (Robert) Rogers and Debra Humphreys; five grandchildren, Deidra Ochs, Donna Sawyer, Darrin Bennett, Dennis Bennett and Tina Embry and 12 great-grandchildren.
