Bio
Irene E. Mann died Monday afternoon, May 4, 1970, at Weston County Memorial Hospital. Irene was born May 1, 1881, at Falls City, NE, and moved to western Nebraska in 1887. She attended Chadron Normal and later taught school in Dawes County, Nebraska. She married Walter C. Mann at Chadron September 28, 1902, and the couple moved to a ranch north of Dewey. Mrs. Mann left the ranch, moving to Newcastle, WY in 1962. She had been a resident of Weston Manor retirement home since October, 1969. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953, and by a son Delbert (Joe) in 1960. Surviving are three sons, Harry, Newcastle; Clarence, Missoula, MT; and Ed, Edgemont, SD; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Streets, Newcastle; two sisters, Katherine Wolcott, Lewiston, ID; and Anna Wolcott, Phoenix, OR; ten grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday in the McColley Funeral Chapel, Newcastle, with Bryan Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Custer Cemetery, Custer, SD.
