Bio

Bobbie Sawyer, of Whitney, passed away March 3, 2011. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Bobbie was born in Axtell, Texas, to the late John Robert and Dimple Violet Strickland Magee. A resident of Whitney since 1972, Bobbie loved being outside enjoying her yard. When she was younger, she also enjoyed fishing. More recently, she loved to follow the Baylor University Lady Bears. Bobbie was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her husband of many years, Bill; daughter, Ruthie Jones and husband, Jimmy, of Blum; son, Mike Sawyer, of Whitney; grandchildren, Melissa Bailey and husband, Chris, of Grandview, Erik Montes and wife, Lacey, of Whitney, Tiffany Sawyer, of Whitney, and Jacob Sawyer, of Waco; great-grandchildren, Sydney Bailey, Jordan Montes, Ally Montes; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
