The Monitor-Press Wellington, Kansas Wednesday, June 27, 1923 page 4 Whitted: - Benton Edgar Whitted, who grew up east of Mulvane in the vicinity of Rose Hill, died in the Newman hospital at Emporia on June 15th, following an accident he had sustained while working in the oil fields near Madison, Greenwood county. Mr. Whitted went to France with the field hospital corps of the 88th division and was honorably discharge after a year's service. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, who is now in El Paso, Texas, and was unable to attend the funeral, his father and mother, two brothers and eight sisters. The funeral was from the Methodist church at Rose Hill on Sunday, June 17th, with interment in the Richland cemetery, southeast of that place.
