Bio
Florence Aerni, 92 of Columbus, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011, at Mory's Haven Nursing Home in Columbus. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011, at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev.'s Patrick Sparling and Kurt Ebert officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and continue on Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Friday at 10:15 AM at the church. Florence was born November 26, 1918, in Polk County, Nebraska, to Frank and Martha (Rinke) Tschauner. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On June 20, 1939, Florence was united in marriage to Albert Aerni at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. Florence worked for Becton-Dickinson as a needle inspector for 20 years, retiring in the early 1970's. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Evening Guild, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed the monthly cousins' club, cooking, and ballroom dancing. Florence is survived by: Son - Bert Aerni of Arvada, CO Son - Ralph (Colleen) Aerni of Columbus, NE Daughter - Jane (David) Hruby of Fort Collins, CO Grandchildren - Mike (Jessika) Aerni, Michelle Aerni, Aaron (Joann) Aerni, Justin Aerni, Ashley Aerni, Angela Hruby, and Andrea Hruby Great-Grandchildren - Molly Aerni and Kylee Aerni Sister-in-law - Lois Aerni of Columbus, NE Foster Brother-in-law - Orville (Dorothy) Gertsch of Crete, NE Florence was preceded in death by: Parents - Frank and Martha Tschauner Husband - Albert Aerni Daughter - Anita Aerni Daughter-in-law - Julie Aerni Sisters - Rosella Gondringer, Regina Leventhal, Helen Schlesinger, and Emma Abegglen Brothers - Carl, Walter, Hubert, Albert, and Martin Tschauner
