Bio
Frances "Fannie or Fanny" Hise was born in Indiana. Her birth year on her tombstone shows her year of birth as 1861, but in the 1900 census it was 1859 and that year actually matches other census records. Fannie was married twice. She first married Addison Fillmore "Frank" Smith 12/25/1878 in Polk County, Iowa. They had one child, a daughter, Nellie. He died in a tragic accident and on 1/1/1882 she married Samuel Murphy, also in Polk County, Iowa. They had at least two children: Elmer L., and Ura Josephine, both born in Oregon.
