Bio
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Basile for A. B. Thompson, 79, who passed away November 15, 2006. He was laid to rest in the Protestant Cemetery. A.B. was a fun loving and gentle man that lived a life as a servant of Jesus. He never met a stranger and handled the storms of life with grace. His love for God, family, friends, and music was always present and visible in his smile. The essence of this great man cannot truly be expressed with words. He and his wife, Neva settled in Basile a number of years ago and have grown to love the people and traditions of their new community and church. He serve as a Deacon of his church and was also a veteran in the United States Army serving with the 11th Airborne. He was survived by his wife, Neva, and their five children, one sister, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
