Bio

Leonal Bud Hampton Bud Hampton, 83, of Nampa, died at home Wednesday, June 12, 2002. Bud was born to James B. Hampton and Etta Lott on March 10, 1919, in Kuna (Happy Valley), Idaho. He was raised in Indian Cove and attended school in Hammett. Always a rancher and cattleman at heart, he was a member of the Owyhee Cattlemens Association and worked on the family ranch in Indian Cove. He married Hazel McMillin on July 19, 1962, and moved to Glenns Ferry in 1963. He ranched there until they moved to Seattle in 1968, where he worked for Boeing. In 1970, they returned to Idaho where he worked for the state until retirement in 1985. His beloved wife, Hazel, his father, mother, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, Vic and his wife, Janett; grandson Mike, his wife Danne, and their children, Jackson and Maryanne; grandson Andy, his wife, Jenny, and their daughter, Hannah; his two sisters, Margaret Coombes of Caldwell and Viola Wesson of Indiana; two brothers, Virgil Hampton of Gooding and Cecil Hampton of Glenns Ferry; and numerous nieces and nephews. His smile and cheerful attitude will be greatly missed. Through his life, he touched every member of his family with his love and happiness. It was his pleasure to be the familys favorite Uncle Bud. Dads great joy in life was being with his great-grandchildren and members of his family. Viewing will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Flahiff Funeral Service, 1812 N. Midland, Nampa. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
