Bio

William Darrah William “Bill” Darrah, 64, of Nampa, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1991, at a Boise hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. The Rev Victor Maier of the Fellowship Tabernacle, Nampa, will officiate. Mr. Darrah was born Sept. 29, 1927, at Bayard, Neb., a son of Walter A. and Mary Ann Palmer Darrah. He moved with his family to Idaho and was raised and attended schools in Salmon and Twin Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during the final part of World War II with the U.S. Occupation Forces in Japan. After his discharge, he worked for several years in the timer industry. He married Bettie J. Woods May 21, 1949, at Twin Falls and they moved to Nampa in 1956. He was a poultryman for Lynch Brothers Egg Farm for about 15 years and then for Story's Feed and Seed until filing health forced his retirement in 1981. Survivors include his wife, Bettie of Nampa; three sons, Sam Darrah and Lonny Darrah, both of Nampa, Layton Darrah of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Sherilynn Gibson, of Nampa; four brothers, Wayne Darrah of Picabo, Jack and Shannon Darrah, both of Nampa, and Rockie Darrah of Wright, Wyo.; four sisters, Louise Fullmer and Janice Miller, both of Nampa, Evlyn Fischer of Twins Falls, and Sally Darrah of Crescent City, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and two brothers. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Service c/o Mercy Medical Center, Nampa, the Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise, or flowers may be sent. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Today, 9 a.m. To 9 p.m. Thursday and until 9:30 a.m. On Friday at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa, and may meet at the cemetery for services.
