Jimmie Ray Gandy, owner and president of Jim Gandy Chevrolet and Greater New Orleans Auto Auction in Slidell, died Wednesday of undetermined causes at Slidell Guest House. He was 66. Mr. Gandy was born in Ellisville, Miss., and lived in Metairie before moving to Slidell 24 years ago. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a former president and co-owner of Tulane Toyota and Gandy Toyota. He was a former board member of the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association and the Louisiana Independent Dealers Association. He was a congressional appointee for automotive trade relations between the United States and Japan.
