Services for Clarence Richard Witherspoon, 74, Seven Points, were held Feb. 6, 2011, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points with Bro. James Renfro officiating. Interment followed in King Cemetery. Witherspoon was born May 30, 1936, in Reenels County to Una Howard Sipes and James Ona Witherspoon and died Feb. 3, 2011, in Seven Points. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers J.C. and James Ona; sisters Lola Pearl, Donna Sue and Velma Kaye. Survivors include his wife, Doronda Witherspoon; sons Tommy Dewayne Witherspoon and wife Maurci, Marlin Morris Jr.; daughters Teri LaJuan, Marla Dee Steward and husband Shawn; brother Donald Hugh; sister Edna Earl; grandchildren Aaron, Keri, Casey, Kevin, Candis, LaRonda, Eric, Samantha, Zane and Cortney; great-grandchildren Brendon, Jacob, Allison, Alysa and Lane.
