Sherman (TX) Democrat , April 29, 1976 Services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Waldo Funeral Chapel for Cassie E. Hix, 87, retired miller of 502 S. Montgomery St. who died Wednesday while working at the Whitemound Cemetery in southeast Grayson County. Services will be conducted by Dr. Tom Brandon of the First Baptist Church with burial at West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hix was born at Fayetteville, Arkansas, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Logan Hix. He was married to Grace Tipton on December 12, 1947 in Sherman and was a miller for Quaker Oats Company for 34 years before his retirement. He was a member of the East Sherman Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife ; son, Robert Hix of Houston ; daughters Mrs. Ollie Grdundale? of Phoenix, Arizona . Mrs. Maurine Murry of Pottsboro and Mrs. Winnie Barnes of Sherman ; stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Jo Casada of Sherman ; brothers, Adrian, Wesley and K. R. Hix, all of Van Alstyne and Roy Hix of Los Angeles, California ; sisters, Mrs. Ollie Archer, Mrs. Anna Lee Jackson and Mrs. Myrtle Gentles, all of McKinney ; eight grandchildren ; 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Robin Stringfellow, Mark Stringfellow, Raymond McMurry, Noble T. Lee, Arvie Hix and Sam Vodnick. Son of Logan and Emma Jane (Waters) Hix.
